Air Preheaters

Increase combustion efficiencies

Howden was the first company to form a joint venture with Fredrik Ljungström.  Since then, we have been designing and improving rotary heat exchanger technology through continual research, development and analysis of both new and aftermarket heaters to optimise product performance and reliability.

Rotary regenerative air preheaters have a much reduced size and cost relative to recuperative tubular or plate heat exchangers.
Howden's air preheaters are engineered to meet the demands of your application.

Using specialised software we can model and accurately predict the operational and cost advantages of our proposals. Environmental considerations and energy costs make it more important than ever to ensure air preheaters are working at optimised levels.

Our service capability encompasses all rotary heat exchangers with our own brands being Howden, Sirocco, Tallares Sanchez Luengo (TSL) and Rothemühle (including LUGAT).

Parabolic Sectorplates

Through continued innovation, Howden have developed the latest Rotary Heater leakage reduction method – Parabolic Sectorplates. Hot End Sectorplates are structurally designed with variable stiffness to deform parabolically, when actuated, to match the shape of the deformed operating rotor. Thereby minimising the hot end leakage gap.
