Howden Solyvent Ventec (HSV) achieves huge success with the ‘Alstom for Loco-Macro project’ - Providing fans for 30 new electric locomotives commissioned by ONCF.

HSV has been collaborating with several Alstom sites for decades. Therefore when Alstom was awarded a contract with ONCF (Moroccan Railway Company), for the supply of 30 electric Prima locomotives, they knew who to turn to for their fan solutions.

For the Loco-Maroc Project, HSV has won major markets with 2 sites in France; Belfort (traction motor) and Tarbes (traction chain components). And 1 site in Belgium; Charleroi (converters).

The 30 locomotives will be manufactured in Alstom's French plants, with the Alstom team in Morocco ensuring the after-sales service and maintenance. Manufacturing will be 100% in Meyzieu.

We supply the fans.

We custom design fans to meet the precise requirements of the manufacturer for each of their particular locomotive types. We then produce the fans in series, to provide bespoke performance and reliability at a minimal cost.

Our range includes centrifugal, axial and hybrid technology fans for rail traction motors, locomotive engines, traction and auxiliary converters, braking resistors and traction transformers cooling systems.

For the Loco-Marco project HSV is supplying fans for the following functions:
