Howden has won the Service and Solutions award at the Energy Industries Council (EIC) National Awards.

The award, sponsored by DeepSea Technologies, was presented at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London on Thursday 6 October 2022. The award was accepted by Billy Milligan, Solutions Development Lead at Howden and presented by Martyn Conroy from Deepsea Technologies. Nominations for the Service and Solutions award were selected based on clear evidence that the solutions from companies demonstrated adding value to customers in their OPEX and O&M value chain, and the specific broadening of scope of work to provide a one-stop-shop or customer-centric approach.

This is a proud moment for our Howden teams supporting our customers within the oil and gas industry and investments we have made to support our customers in their energy transition.

Given the growing climate crisis, Howden has recognised the need to support energy customers to decarbonise. With our global track record and expertise in hydrogen, energy recovery and carbon capture solutions, Howden has established a reputation in the energy transition space, focused on enhancing its customers’ vital processes so that they may contribute to a more sustainable world.

Massimo Bizzi, Chief Operating Officer at Howden

Interviewed by Stuart earlier in the year for EIC’s Thrive and Survive report, Massimo shared Howden’s experience of the market conditions within the last 12 months, as well as company performance within the year and highlighted the need for investment, product innovation, and key projects that are supporting Howden’s customers through their energy transition.

Massimo also shares the company’s own business commitments to lower our carbon footprint and meet energy transition targets through its first ESG report. The Service and Solutions award recognised Howden’s contribution to several projects that are supporting hard to abate sectors decarbonise including HYBRIT, the world’s first fossil free steel plant in Sweden, the world’s first e-methanol plant designed to harness energy from the wind, located in Chile and most recently, supported Shell’s Red II Green Project after it was tasked by the Dutch government to reduce its carbon footprint.

Howden’s nomination for the 2022 EIC awards came from its submission in EIC’s sixth edition of its Survive and Thrive Insight Report. The annual report provides insights on the state of the energy industry based on extensive interviews with the leaders and senior executives of 63 energy supply chain companies from around the world.
