Promoting remote assistance with Augmented Reality technology

Howden have been working closely with PTC to support the development of a new digital solution which uses Augmented Reality technology to enable remote assistance and collaboration.

Vuforia Chalk is a powerful tool that combines Augmented Reality technology with real-time communications to connect remote product experts to on-site field technicians.

Vuforia Chalk connects users via mobile devices, using a video link, to share a view of equipment or an environment. The digital technology allows the user to draw ‘Chalk Marks’ on their screens to highlight details or guide multi-step solutions. These Chalk marks are visible to both users and the advanced computer vision intelligently locks annotations onto targets, so that users can move around objects and annotations with 3D spatial recognition.
