Howden is pleased to announce that it has acquired Peter Brotherhood (“the Company”) from Avingtrans Plc. The transaction closed on March 11th, 2021.

Founded in 1867 in Peterborough, U.K., Peter Brotherhood designs, manufactures, and services steam turbines and turbine generator sets. Steam turbines recover energy from waste heat, improve efficiency for customers and reduce customers’ carbon footprint. The Company has a global installed base of equipment, with power outputs of up to 40MW.

The Peter Brotherhood acquisition further expands Howden’s technologies and capabilities in delivering environmental and energy technology solutions to its customers. Specifically, this acquisition expands Howden’s steam turbine product range to include larger scale, multi-stage technology offerings. With this acquisition, Peter Brotherhood’s customers will now have access to Howden’s global network, which offers a wider range of products and services as well as additional specialist application engineering expertise.

We are pleased to finalise our agreement with Avingtrans Plc and to welcome the Peter Brotherhood team to Howden. Peter Brotherhood has a rich heritage and global reputation in the steam turbine industry. The company’s culture, technologies and capabilities of the team are an excellent fit with Howden. The acquisition will allow our combined global customer base access to our combined technologies, engineering expertise and service capabilities.
