In the coke oven plant our oven fans provide the combustion air to burn the coke (mostly carbon). Howden centrifugal compressors in the coke-oven by-product plant exhausters remove the by products such as sulfar, phenol and ammonia. Our rotary Gas Gas Heaters are being used in the emissions reduction systems of sinter plants and coke plants to efficiently transfer heat between the untreated and treated gases In the sinter plant our forced draught combustion air fans support the combustion process before our cooling fans are used to cool the product. Hot air is recovered and returned to the process and dust is controlled using specialist Howden fans.
Every Howden product is backed by an absolute commitment to lifetime support and service that covers all spare parts, troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance and emergency response. We are dedicated to maintaining your plant at peak performance and, above all, keeping it in continuous production.
Some of today's most arduous applications for Howden products are found in the iron and steel industry. The need to move large volumes of air or gas, in many cases at high pressures and high dust burdens, places stringent demands on the mechanical design of the impeller.
Our fans are highly efficient designs, reducing power consumption in an energy intensive industry, while operating in high temperature and erosive environments. Our extensive experience in each application enables us to provide equipment of great reliability with the consequent reduction of unplanned outages.
To provide fresh cooling air to cool down the hot sintered product after the sintering process.
To collect the large quantities of dust generated in the sintering process that can then be recycled as a process input.
To provide combustion air for the coke oven.
To remove the off-gases from the coke oven.
To collect saleable by-products (light oil, sulfur, tar, phenol, ammonia) in the coke-oven by-product plant exhausters.
