Waste water treatment is required for both effluent from municipal sewerage systems and from industrial processes such as food, drink, pulp and paper sectors where liquid organic effluents are produced as a by-product.

The demand for treatment plants is growing quickly in many countries to process increasing volumes of waste water whilst avoiding pollution.
We have been involved in waste water treatment for many decades, and have developed our rotary blower and turbo compressor technology for the specific needs of water treatment plants, and with aeration accounting for over 60% of power requirements, it is essential to make sure you get an efficient solution.

Our highly efficient turbo compressor design, fitted with variable inlet guide vanes and variable vane diffuser system offers a unique high performance across the entire duty range and not just at full load duty conditions. We have an unrivalled turbo compressor range covering ten frame sizes with volumes from 4,000 to 140,000 m3/h, with the option to install a unified control system that can optimise part-load operation across several blowers.

  • Grit chamber aeration

    Airflow is generated by a blower and is introduced into the Aerated Grit Chamber via a tube which is located near the bottom of the chamber, thereby creating a circular or toroidal flow pattern in the wastewater. The continuous rising flow deflects off an energy-recovery baffle at the liquid surface. This flow pattern causes the grit to settle to the bottom of the chamber while keeping lighter organic material in suspension to be processed further downstream.

  • Difuser aeration

    Injection of air into wastewater to oxidize organics to aid microorganisms in the bio-degradation of the pollutants. Centrifugal compressor, or rotary blower can be applied here and are dependent on capacity, flow rate and efficiency requirements

  • Sludge Drying

    Sewage sludge can be combusted on site, shipped elsewhere for combustion or used as agricultural fertilizer. The larger plants and those in metropolitan areas opt for on site incineration. Fluid bed combustors utilize blowers.
