Hydrogen Liquefaction

Liquid hydrogen supply

The increasing demand for hydrogen’s use across diverse and growing industrial sectors will require construction of new large-scale hydrogen production and distribution infrastructure. Liquid hydrogen supply is often desired due to its higher energy density compared to gaseous hydrogen and lower cost at high volumes. The conventional hydrogen liquefaction process follows the following three steps; compression, cooling and expansion.

Compression is one of the main components in the hydrogen liquefaction processes, and selecting the right compression solution is a key step in improving the feasibility of these applications.

Howden, with more than a century of hydrogen and gas applications experience and a product range that covers every major technology, can advise on, design and supply the right safe, reliable and cost-effective compressor solution for virtually any situation.
