CO2 transport is the process of transporting the CO2 from where it is captured to a storage site for permanent storage or use.
Howden’s role in CO2 transportation
After the gas has been dried to prevent corrosion, it needs to be brought to pressure by Howden compressors in order to be sent down a pipeline for transport.
Alternatively, liquefied CO2 is stored in a pressurized tank, and pumped into trucks, railway cars or ships for transportation purposes, and subsequently injected into porous rock formations, or vaporized for commercial usage
Depending on requirements, we can supply a screw, reciprocating or centrifugal compressor to transport the gas, and boost it to over 200 bar for injection & Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) purposes.
