Howden Conflict Minerals Statement

Howden is a global organization committed to conducting business with integrity whilst maintaining our core values of corporate citizenship. We operate ethically, with honesty and transparency, and with respect for the communities where we live and work, to help build a more sustainable world. Moreover, Howden holds suppliers and other business partners to the same ethical standards and moral code of conduct.

Howden's Conflict Minerals Policy strives to eradicate the human suffering and environmental impact in connection with the mining of certain ”Conflict Minerals” from locations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, its adjoining countries as well as other conflict or high-risk areas.

The "Conflict Minerals" are defined as cassiterite, columbite-tantalite (coltan), wolframite and the metals (often referred to as 3TG) extracted from these minerals: tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold.

Howden takes its responsibilities seriously and is committed to compliance with all the regulatory requirements and legislation in relation to Conflict Minerals.

Howden recognizes the complexities and challenges of managing an international supply chain. As part of our Conflict Minerals Policy, we expect our suppliers and business partners to:

  • develop and implement policies to identify and assess risk in the supply chain;
  • design and implement a strategy to respond to identified risks;
  • where possible, source Conflict Minerals from socially and environmentally responsible sources validated as conflict free.
