Dating back to 1899, Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch (KK&K) formed in Germany and have been designing industry leading turbo machinery ever since. Between 2006 and 2017 the KK&K products were sold under the name Siemens Turbomachinery Equipment GmbH, Howden are delighted to be able to return the Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch name back to the market.
Whether it is the range of industrial compressors or steam turbines, KK&K stands for state-of-the-art quality, "Made in Germany".
Howden offers a full range of pre-designed KK&K turbo compressors to meet the needs of the metallurgical, oil and gas and chemical industries. Single stage compressors and blowers with separate gearbox, integrated gearbox, or direct coupled can be matched with a range of drivers – steam turbine or electric motor – in a solution to match the needs of each unique customer. As one of the leading turbo machinery manufacturers with over 100 years of experience and continuous development, and a fleet of more than 4,000 installed turbo compressors and blowers, we are a prime partner for your business.
With our unrivalled competence in compressor unit solutions from a single source, Howden offers a comprehensive range of pre-designed KK&K turbo compressors up to 600,000 m³/h, with the flexibility to address the specific requirements for your application.
Our standardized units with modular design ensure low life cycle and investment costs and short delivery times. Metallurgical, chemical and petrochemical plants as well as refineries are amongst the most common applications for our compression solutions.
Whatever your need for a prime mover, Howden can provide you with versatile, reliable and proven industrial steam turbines. The world leader in steam turbine technology, with over 100 years of experience and continuous development, and a fleet of more than 20,000 installed turbines, we are a prime partner for your business.
Howden offers a comprehensive range of pre-designed steam turbines up to 12 MW. These innovative but economical machines have a simple modular design which facilitates optimisation of performance for the required application. For optimal configuration, we have different but fully compatible design series to draw upon, enabling us to match your needs as exactly as possible.
Of course we strictly adhere to the guidelines laid down in the quality standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Not only the steam turbines, but also associated field-proven hightech products are available from the KK&K range. These include generators, instrumentation and controls, as well as auxiliary and ancillary systems.
Single stage turbo compressor with a semi-open impeller, the SF series can handle gas flows up to 600,000 m3/h.
Processes: Sulfuric Acid Plants, Spent Acid Regeneration, Sulfur Recovery Units, Industrial Evaporation Processes, Zero Liquid Discharge, Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage, Chemical Plants.
Highly efficient, integrally geared, single-stage turbo compressor providing state of the art safety and reliability.
Processes: Sulfur Recovery Unit, Industrial Evaporation Processes, Zero Liquid Discharge, Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage, Copper Converter Blower, Chemical Plants (PA, MA, MMA, EO/EG, Acrylic Acid, Oxo-Alcohol etc.)
The SL is a single-stage centrifugal compressor with openform impeller, with radially ending blades.
Processes: Coke gas service
An integral turbocompressor/steam turbine-unit with single shaft design. This compact design (the impeller and turbine wheel are supported on a single rotor stand) ensures very low steam consumption, high efficiency and minimum space requirements.
Processes: Sulfur Recovery Units, Spent Acid Regeneration, Sulfuric Acid Plants (Chemical / Fertilizer), Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage, Chemical Plants.
The R series is a single-stage centrifugal turboblower with closed impeller in fabricated, modular design allowing optimum adaption to nearly all process requirements.
Applications: Sulfuric Acid Plants, Sulfur Recovery Units, Tail Gas Treatment Units, Chemical Plants.
The BASE steam turbine, previously known as the SST-040 / 050, has a power output up to 1,000 kW.
Applications: Turbogenerator e.g. in waste-heat recovery, small CHP plants and decentralized solar facilities. The BASE as mechanical drive serves a wide range of industries.
Previously known as the SST-060 the CORE steam turbines are ideal for those who wish to complete the unit for customers, and for use as a mechanical drive for power generation.
Applications: Chemistry, Petrochemistry , Refineries, Sugar / Palmoil, Wood / Paper, Electricity Supplier, Municipal Utilities, Smelters / Steel, IPP / Contracting / Engineering, Food, Energy-from-waste Plants, Waste heat recovery, Ship / Offshore.
The MONO steam turbine has a power output up to 6,000 kW, and the option to have a special multistage condensing module.
Previously known as the SST-110, the TWIN steam turbine is a dual casing turbine that can run on different stream lines on one gearbox. Furthermore the dual casing design enables for controlled extraction.
Applications: Chemistry, Petrochemistry , Refineries, Sugar / Palmoil, Wood / Paper, Electricity Supplier, Municipal Utilities, Smelters / Steel, IPP / Contracting / Engineering, Food, Energy-from-waste Plants, Waste heat recovery, Ship / Offshore, Sludge incineration.
The TRI allows three turbines to be connected to the integrated gear. Like the TWIN this allows the TRI to run on different stream lines or provides up to two controlled extractions.
All turbine types are also available as special engineered and tailormade solution for e.g. Oil & Gas, special purposes, ATEX etc. with no limits in complexity and according customer specifications.
For example COMBI trains with multiple extractions or EXP (expanders) for gas expansion.
