Howden hits gold...
Howden receives a Gold Award at the National E-Learning Awards in the UK!
Howden won the category of
Excellence in the production of E-Learning - Private Sector at the largest UK e-learning awards event. Howden was recognised for the extensive programme of work which has been undertaken to convert the first week of Howden Academy's campus based Developing Engineering Excellence course from lecture based content into online learning.
The "short" list included over 30 other companies, including some of the UK’s biggest and most well known businesses. The Gold Award was based on how we created the content as well as the digital development work itself.
Feedback from Howden Academy delegates and line managers has been very positive about the course however there was a clear desire for more of the campus time to be devoted to technical and product learning. We developed a project to develop 39 e-learning modules which cover more generic learning topics such as the overviews of our products, markets and the history of the organization.
As a result, the three-week on-campus element of the Developing Engineering Excellence course is now more technical as well job-specific for all delegates, while we have retained the market, industry and internal functions modules, which provides a great induction for any new engineer as well as other staff.
