Bag House and Fabric Filter Plant
Our fabric filter plant is suitable for application requirements where emissions below 10mg/m3 are required.

Howden pioneered the use of fabric filters at South Africa power stations in 1986, and today provides world class solutions that are in step with the latest environmental regulations. We designed and installed the largest power station fabric filter plant of its type in the world for the 4,110MW Majuba Power Station.

Detailed specifications

Two bag filter technologies are offered, either high pressure reverse pulse jet, or low pressure reverse pulse jet.

High Pressure Reverse-pulse Jet
Howden’s high pressure reverse-pulse jet systems are supplied as complete engineered multiple-module bag houses or as stand-alone units, affording offering a combined high performance low operating cost solution.

Low Pressure Reverse Pulse Jet
Our low-pressure reverse pulse jet filter technology is particularly appropriate to applications where space for the plant is limited, for instance installations between the boiler and outlet stack of an existing plant. Cleaning of our reverse flow designs is by means of a high-volume pulse through a rotating manifold, which results in better release of the dust cake, for lower cleaning frequency and longer bag life. The reverse pulse jet filter offers high performance and a low operating cost, making it a popular choice in many demanding industrial applications.
