Burton Corblin Periflow® Range of Peripheral Compressors
The Periflow® compressor has its own performance characteristics situated between those of volumetric displacement blowers and centrifugal compressors.

Periflow® compressors provide a cost-effective option when moderate capacities and speeds are required. They are more suitable than reciprocating compressors in applications that demand a pulsation-free and vibration-free gas flow. Periflow® technology offers exceptional levels of availability, easy operation, and straightforward integration into existing plant.

Full details can be found in our product brochure for Periflow compressors or you can see the Periflow in detail using our animation.

More information can be found in the compressor brochure.

Key Benefits

  • High availability: The moderate running speed provides increased reliability.

  • Simplicity: No requirement for complex lubrication systems, and the smooth gas flow removes any need for expensive anti-surge systems.

  • Precise flow control: The use of a variable speed electric drive or steam turbine allows easy adjustment of capacity to meet process needs.

  • Simple operation: Easy start-up even under process pressure.

  • Easy installation: Simple, compact skid-mounted package with small footprint requires no foundations.

  • Integrated skid-mounted unit: Can be supplied with drive unit, control systems, instrumentation and other ancillary equipment, pre-assembled and tested.

  • Highly cost-effective: Requires minimum maintenance, minimum space, and minimum installation costs.

  • Versatility: Suitable for most types of gas, including corrosive, explosive, and particle-bearing as well as pure, and from bone dry to saturated. Materials for casings and moving parts can be selected from a range of steel, iron and alloy grades to suit the process gas.

  • Simple maintenance: Easy access to regulation and control mechanisms and all components requiring routine attention.

  • Choice of bearings and seals: Standard or high precision angular contact ball bearings with grease or oil mist lubrication, and wet or dry mechanical seals, to suit the application and circumstances.

Standard Features

  • Ducting, instrumentation and all components designed as a whole system for optimised flow. Compliance with applicable international norms and standards, including ISO, AFNOR, API 617, and ASME.

Optional Features

  • Water cooled heads.
  • Control cabinets.
  • DCS

Detailed specifications

The Periflow® compressor has its own performance characteristics situated between those of volumetric displacement blowers and centrifugal compressors.  Solution covers moderate capacities needs through moderate speed. Periflow® represents limited investment compared to a centrifugal compressor, and a valuable solution compared to reciprocating machines, when no pulsations and no vibration solutions are required.

Full details can be found in our product brochure for Periflow compressors.
