Heat Exchanger Baskets

We supply elements, whether for Howden or other suppliers’ rotary heat exchangers, in a wide variety of basket designs. These may either be direct replacements or Howden designs which have been specially developed to maximise the effective rotor area and to reduce the amount of gas bypassing the elements, thus increasing the amount of heat exchanged.

Our baskets are designed and manufactured to ensure that the elements remain tightly packed to avoid damage caused by vibration while the air preheater or gas-gas heater is operating. We pay particular attention to this in the case of enamelled elements where the extra excitation during cleaning can cause significant damage if not accounted for.
 
The computer controlled Howden SurePack Elements^® basket packing system controls the packing pressure within narrow limits to prevent excessive vibration and increase operating life.

Our experienced engineers have the knowledge to design replacement element baskets that provide significant operational improvement compared to those originally supplied, e.g. reduced pressure, increased heat recovery, improved resistance to fouling, or in some cases, all three.
