Howden Chair inaugurated at City University London

City University London has announced the appointment of Dr Ahmed Kovacevic as the first Howden Professor of Engineering Design and Compressor Technology. 

During his ten years with the University’s School of Engineering and Mathematical Design, Professor Kovacevic has made a significant contribution to the teaching of engineering design at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, linking his teaching with industrial research. He is author or co-author of four books, over 120 papers and 50 industrial reports, and the recipient of seven ‘best paper’ awards. He also holds several patents in the area of positive displacement machines.
 
Howden endowed the Chair of Engineering Design and Compressor Technology following many years of association with City University, much of it involving Professor Kovacevic who is currently undertaking a research and development programme with Howden Compressors.
