Howden Academy Shortlisted in National Awards

Howden has been shortlisted in the Education, Skills and Leadership category at the 2009 CBI/Human Capital Awards, having already been "Highly Commended" at the 2009 HR Excellence Awards.

Howden Academy was introduced to help engineers build their career quickly, and since it's launch it continues to evolve and offer the most effective ways of delivering training and imparting knowledge - a fact that can't have escaped the judges notice. Since then the scope of the course has been widened to includes components on specialist roles such as site supervisors and service engineers and plans are underway to turn some of the material into interactive e-learning modules.

Embracing technology to support learners is a key element of Howden Academy development, and students attending future cohorts will also have the opportunity to study material online in advance of the course. This will allow more time for additional technical and job-related training.

Analysis of the latest evaluation data shows that over 79% of managers believe that students’ time to effectiveness in the workplace has been reduced, with 54% of those managers believing it has been reduced by three months or more.
