Howden Africa win EHS Award

In 2006 Howden Africa started work on a Return To Service (RTS) project with Eskom, the state owned electricity utility company.

The project involves the refurbishment of the power station which has five 100MW units and four 125MW units with a total installed capacity of 1,000 MW.

The performance of our onsite team of 25 employees has been recognised in the Generation Business Awards where they were announced as runner-up for Best Principal Contractor : Health & Safety. This is a prestigious award that is presented by Eskom Enterprises on an annual basis to principal contractors.

The team have already won an "Outstanding Contribution to Komati Power Station Project Safety Culture" award, and have gone 1200 days onsite without a lost-time incident.
