Academic Partner
Howden and Glasgow Caledonian University have worked in partnership to develop Howden Academy, which was launched in July 2008. The Academy combines Howden’s specialist engineering skills and experience with the teaching expertise and world-class learning facilities of Glasgow Caledonian University, in the West of Scotland.
The University’s lecturers are fully involved in the preparation of the teaching materials, enabling Howden Academy to use the best techniques available.
At the moment, training methods draw on traditional classroom work supported by comprehensive notes and materials, delivered in manageable modules. Over time, and as our experience grows, we will investigate other options such as web and video-based systems.
Glasgow Caledonian University have added assessment methods to measure learning outcomes and to provide feedback to delegates for ongoing development following their return to business units.
