Howden Spain History
1941 Tallares Sanchez Luengo (TSL) is formed in Cartagena, Spain.
1960 TSL commences the manufacture of replacement heating elements for rotary regenerative heat
exchangers.
1997 Howden acquires Tallares Sanchez Luengo. The company is renamed Howden TSL.
2001 The company becomes part of the Power Division of Howden Group and is renamed Howden
Power Spain. It becomes the Howden global Centre of Excellence for heating element
development, design and production.
2002 The company moves to a new purpose-built manufacturing plant at La Union, near Cartagena, in
Murcia, Spain.
2003 Howden Power Spain launches its "Surepack Elements"
® vitreous enamelled element system.
2006 To recognise that the company has expanded its activities to include the servicing and upgrading
of fans and heat exchangers in the Iberian Peninsula, the company is renamed Howden Spain.
