New Dynamic Balancing Machine installed at Howden North America’s manufacturing plant in Mexico City.

The dynamic balancing capabilities of Howden North America have been significantly enhanced with the recent installation and commissioning of a brand new, state of the art Schenck HM60 dynamic balancing machine.

With a weight capacity of 44,000 lbs (20 tonnes), the Schenck HM60 is more than double the previous maximum capacity that could be balanced by Howden North America. Most importantly, this new machine will guarantee that all wheel assemblies manufactured by HNA will be dynamically balanced to the highest standards.

Features of the new machine include:

• Split bed / pit enables wheels up to 160 inches (4m) to be balanced.
• Main bed length – 157 inches. Secondary bed is 48 inches in length.
• CAB 920 dynamic balancing system
    o Single compensation
    o Key compensation
    o Electronic protractor
• Twin roller carriages can accommodate shaft bearing journals from 8 inches to 15 inches diameter
• Hard copy printout of results can be provided
• Regenerative braking system
• ‘Hard bearing’ type machine
• Belt driven via 50 HP motor
