Transport
The transport sector provides many applications which require series-produced fans that operate with high reliability. Howden fans may be found on the latest high-speed rail locomotives, in heavy duty off road vehicles, and in ships.
We custom design fans to meet the precise requirements of the manufacturer for each of their particular locomotive types or vehicles. We then produce the fans in series, to the unique specification of each application. The equipment we supply, either centrifugal or axial, includes
- rail traction motor blowers.
- cooling and ventilating fans.
- centrifugal fans for locomotive engines and brake cooling systems
- suction fans for vehicle sweepers
Our fans are fitted to the latest generation of high-speed locomotives such as the ICE
in Germany and the TGV in France. Heavy off-road vehicles run cooler because of Howden fans. Similarly we also produce fans for road sweepers as described on the Environmental Industries page.
