Howden has been an important part of the engineering developments that have taken place here in Africa for the last sixty years. Throughout that time, every hour of every day, our equipment has been helping build some of the continent's most important large-scale power generation, mining, construction, petrochemical and manufacturing projects.
Our success is a product of the long term relationships we have built with our customers as we have supplied expertise and experience, as well as plant and equipment, across a wide range of applications during Africa’s industrial infrastructural development. To enable us to meet the needs of customers as quickly and effectively as possible, we have four major business units offering comprehensive engineered systems and after-market support services, focusing on specific industrial sectors or product ranges.
The Howden Africa business units - Howden Power, Howden Fan Equipment, Howden Projects and Donkin Fans - are supported by two world-class manufacturing centres in South Africa. The Johannesburg site produces a diverse range of large scale engineered plant and products, including turnkey fans, heat exchangers, furnaces, refrigeration and cooling, and gas cleaning solutions. Our Port Elizabeth Donkin Fans centre is focused on the design and manufacture of pre-engineered fans and accessories.
